The gun was an object in the movie Cool Cat Saves the Kids.
After being found by Cool Cat, Maria, and Mikey, Butch the Bully spots it, and wants to use it to get everyone's lunch money.
The next day, Daddy Derek walks Cool Cat, Maria, and Mikey to school. There, they witness Butch and the Mikee (different spelling) get arrested. Now everyone is safe!
